I was photographing Cockateils near Alice Springs Airport earlier this month when two Whistling Kites thundered overhead chasing one another.I only got distant photos of their carry on, but one had a smaller bird in talons (probably a Cockateil) and they were courting with the catch in the sky...the courting was fast and furious and the little bird got dropped and picked up again.nnA day or so later I came across a pair of Whistling Kites perched in a tree nearby at dusk when it was real
