For the past fifteen years, Lauren Lee McCarthy has worked in performance, video, installation, software, artificial intelligence, and other media to address how an algorithmically determined world impacts human relationships and social life. Lauren Lee McCarthy's current show at Mandeville Art Gallery, UC San Diego, La Jolla, is called “Bodily Autonomy”. The show brings together two major works — Surrogate and Saliva — to examine bio-surveillance. There's also a new site-specific video by Lauren Lee McCarthy and Casey Reas for the exterior screen of the Mandeville Art Gallery. Bodily Autonomy is McCarthy’s largest solo exhibition in the United States to date and runs until May 25, 2024. The premiere will be held in Austin, Texas, on 12 March 2024 at 14:30 at the Zach Theatre.<br/> <br/>The new documentary about the band is directed by longtime collaborator Antony Crook, in association with Blazing Griffin, Adler Entertainment, Rock Action Records and Screen Scotland.<br/> <br/>To celebrate the World Premiere a special live show of the band will also be held tonight, March, 11th at the Moody Theater at Austin Limits Live. The live show is a a special collaborative showcase with DE FACTO, the cult Dub & Electronica group of Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala, best known as the founding members of At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta, whose own documentary, Omar and Cedric: If This Ever Gets Weird, also premieres at the festival. Local monolithic drone supergroup Water Damage (members of Black Eyes, Spray Paint, Marriage, USA/Mexico, Swans) open the night.<br/> <br/>MOGWAI: If The Stars Had A Sound is an exciting feature documentary following the independent Scottish band from their inception to the present day.
