_5-people-who-fell-off-the-2024-billionaires-list.webp "$14.2 trillion, on Forbes’ 2024 World’s Billionaires list—but not everyone is celebrating. An unlucky quarter of those on the ranking are poorer than they were in 2023. And 189 people fell below the $1 billion threshold, losing their membership to the three-comma club entirely.<br/><br/>These billionaire drop-offs include moguls behind some notable brands, such as Estée Lauder heir Gary Lauder; Hajime Satomi, former CEO of Japanese gaming company Sega Sammy; and David Tran, owner of the company behind Sriracha hot sauce.<br/><br/>The overwhelming majority of the losses came from China, one of the few huge markets to sputter in an otherwise-positive year amid fallout from slower economic growth, a property market glut, a decline in foreign investment and rising geopolitical tensions. China shed 133 billionaires (including Hong Kong and Macau) since last year’s list. _around-70-staff-lose-jobs-as-sh-structures-is-placed-into-administration.webp "Around 70 jobs have been lost after a Yorkshire manufacturing business which was founded in the early 1990s went into administration. Andrew Mackenzie and Louise Longley of Begbies Traynor were appointed as joint administrators of SH Structures Limited on April 4. Based in Sherburn-in-Elmet, the business designed, manufactured and installed complex steel structures. It was established more than 30 years ago and employed approximately 70 staff.<br/>In a statement, the administrators said: “SH Structures suffered from losses on various contracts and a gap in production scheduling due to projects being delayed. “Despite the multi-award winning company's strong reputation, it has not proved possible to find a purchaser for the business. SH Structures will cease trading with the loss of all jobs.”")
